Big D&T Meet

DT departments across the country have no single place to find suppliers, so they tend to buy from the same few they already know. The Big D&T Meet brings suppliers and departments together once a year, and The Inspiration Trust wanted that to carry on working the rest of the time.

So we built them a custom web directory platform where suppliers and educational partners can showcase their offerings to DT departments nationally.

The platform has a custom submission system with an admin backend. Anyone can submit a listing, but nothing goes live until the Trust approves it. We did it this way so the directory stays credible for the teachers browsing it, and so the Trust has a better idea of who is using the platform and can give them greater support.

The approval queue also showed that lots of suppliers needed some kind of support to create engaging, effective listings. Because every submission passes through the Trust first, Big D&T Meet could meet that need.

The app also acts as a companion platform for the event itself. Visitors have limited time and a hall full of stalls, so it lets them find the companies that are relevant to their interests before they walk the room.
